António Mendes
-
Hi, I'm António Mendes, I was born and raised in Portugal and at the moment I'm still in Highschool studying Multimedia. Portugal always showed me that the small details in life are important, in order to have fun and be happy with our lifes, money, partys and big groups of friends isn't what makes us alive and full. Maybe a cold beer with some friends in Coimbra is enough, and that's the context of the foto I took, show how life some times can be "simple as that”

Paula Vilela
-
I am a Visual Arts teacher and I believe that photography can be an accessible and creative form of expression, available to anyone with a camera in their pocket. As part of this Erasmus+ session, I participated as a facilitator, leading a hands-on activity on how to use a mobile phone camera to take good photographs. The experience was especially enriching as it allowed me to combine my artistic and pedagogical practice with cultural exchange, exploring a new city through the eyes of young Europeans, while sharing ideas and creating images together. As an educator, I am deeply committed to human rights and social responsibility, values I strive to incorporate into my work and the experiences I help create. I believe that art and photography in particular can be a powerful tool to give visibility to diverse realities, promote dialogue, and foster empathy between cultures. Collaborating with the organizers and communicating in English was a rewarding challenge that reinforced the value of art as a bridge between people, ideas, and worlds

We believe all youth can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
